A lot of traveling in October. Matt was in Atlantic City for a conference in the second week of the month, and Alison was in Denver for a conference the next weekend. We took advantage of Matt being in new Jersey to visit Alison’s grandmother with Petra.
Petra liked having her own seat on the plane.
This time she got a better chance to get to know her great grandmother.
We also caught up with some of Alison’s aunts and uncle.
The six of us Denton cousins have been on a baby spree this year – six couples, five babies this year, seven all told, and one on the way! The great-grandchildren are the 4th generation, hence “G4″s. We all got together to introduce the babies and see my grandmother in the end of August.

Mind your Ps and Qs: Quintus is only 3 weeks younger than Petra; let’s see how they stack up
We took a day trip down to Newport for the holiday, to see the newest addition to the extended Denton family (Alison’s mom’s side). Hot on Petra’s heels came Quintus, son of cousin Tracey and Eelco. He was born 3 weeks early in the last week of June. We got to meet him and also see Gwyneth, Matt and Iris as well as the Alison’s Aunt and Uncle.
We spent 6 days around Christmas traveling to visit relatives and friends. In our whirlwind tour, we fit in:
- Christmas with ’s extended family in PA, including his cute twin 11-month old second cousins.
- The funeral of an elderly neighbor of his in DC, which occasioned catching up with many family friends.
- Museums on the The Mall with friends.
- A jaunt up to New Jersey to visit my 90-year old grandmother.
